The Special Duty Task Force was founded on some very simple and basic principles. First and foremost, providing for today’s ever-changing security demands with highly trained and motivated security personnel. Because we specialize in all types of different security situations, IPA can provide for a wide and unique variety of specialists custom-tailored for you and/or your company’s specific needs.

The owners of IPA, Matthew McJunkin and Donald Collison, did extensive research and development looking into the current state of security and its adverse affect on the industry’s standards. Investigators were sent into a variety of local security companies to gain intelligence on their employee training and standards. Those items investigated included how well the employees were able to deal with the ever-changing number of situations that they may face as well as the quality of employee their clients received. Unfortunately, we were surprised to find that most security companies were insufficient at best. Upon closer examination, we found the root of the problem, and here it is.

Many companies don't like paying in excess of $15/hour for an armed security officer. Makes sense right? That's the best place to cut corners ..... or is it? When a given company pays $15/hour for armed security, then the officer, who is supposed to be competent enough to carry a firearm and protect your property, is getting paid somewhere around $7 to $8/hour. Carrying a weapon comes with great responsibility, especially for a person being paid $7/hour. This is especially true when you consider the fact that the same person could be earning $10/hour at a fast food restaurant. As much as we hate to admit it, the average salary that was received by our investigators was about $8/hour. The training provided in most situations consisted of sitting in a room, watching inadequate and out-dated videos while some even took a nap. After picking the best fitting uniforms from a used box, they were issued equipment and sent to various assignments. To make a long, disappointing story short, we completed our investigations, took the information that we had gathered, and developed a security division within Investigation and Protection Agency called the "Special Duty Task Force", a specialized security force made up of well-paid security professionals who are trained and capable of handling most any situation they may encounter. We felt that a research and development department was also necessary to ensure that all of our officers were current with new developments in security and tactics. We also felt that local law enforcement agencies should be a close ally, and for this reason, officers from various agencies in the area have been brought in to assist in the training of our team. It’s because of our pre-qualification standards as well as our customized in-house training program that we can stand behind our word in that we offer the highest-quality trained security officers available. This is why we call our security personnel "Officers".
